Join the Celebration: 40th Annual Seguin Township Sled Dog Mail Run! February 22, 2025
Get ready for an unforgettable winter tradition as Seguin Township proudly hosts the 40th Annual Sled Dog Mail Run! Since 1985, this beloved event has brought together mushers, sled dogs, and spectators for a unique celebration of history, sport, and community. On Saturday, February [insert date], the adventure continues with a day packed full of activities for the whole family.
Humphrey: The Excitement Begins! (7:30 AM – 10:30 AM)
Kickstart your morning with a delicious pancake breakfast at the Humphrey Community Centre (15 Humphrey Dr.), where you can meet the mushers and their incredible dog teams. While you’re there, don’t forget to purchase a special “sledvelope”—an official piece of mail that will be delivered via sled dog team to Rosseau! Each sledvelope is $3.50 or $5.00 with a donation to Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.
Other morning highlights include:
Opening ceremonies and a warm Township welcome
Skating loop (weather permitting)
Loading of the historic mail bags onto sleds throughout the morning
A thrilling send-off as the sled dog teams hit the trails, cheered on by an excited crowd!
Rosseau: A Fun-Filled Afternoon (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
As the sled dog teams complete their 17 km journey through the beautiful winter landscape, the village of Rosseau will be buzzing with festivities.

Free dog sled rides for kids at Rosseau Field House (7 Ash St. N)
Kids’ Zone featuring games, sledding, and a Beavertails food truck
Live music performance by local musicians, Banzai, next to Rosseau Memorial Hall
Food Hall featuring delicious offerings from local vendors ($12/adult, $6/child) at Rosseau Memorial Hall (2 Victoria St. W.)
Heated beverage tent with drinks crafted by Legends Spirits Inc., local beer from Clear Lake Brewing, and gourmet hot chocolate, hosted by Blake’s Memories of Muskoka
Arrival of the sled dog teams, where mail bags are handed off to the Rosseau Postmaster for official delivery
