Hosted by the Ontario Sea Kayak Center at Killbear Provincial Park, Paddlepalooza is Ontario’s Sea Kayaking Symposium. The multitude of experienced teachers and passionate participants that unite annually to discover, impart, and commemorate a shared passion for kayaking is what truly sets this event apart.

For this event, we bring together top-notch sea kayak teachers from some of Canada’s greatest paddling schools, along with knowledgeable Greenland paddling mentors. At Ontario Sea Kayak Centre, we all enjoy throwing Paddlepalooza. Paddlepalooza, which brings together kayakers from all across North America and Canada, will celebrate its eleventh year in 2024. Parry Sound is the perfect place to host Paddlepalooza because of its closeness to Georgian Bay’s wide seas and its protected inlets.

At Paddlepalooza, we welcome paddlers of all abilities and provide skills workshops for all skill levels, from total novices to seasoned pros. Paddlepalooza takes place over two or three days, depending on your availability. You can opt to include Friday in your weekend of education, enjoyment, and networking when you register. The primary events take place on Saturday and Sunday.

If you are enrolled in the Friday sessions, arrive at Killbear Provincial Park on Thursday instead of Friday. Check-in at the OSKC organizer’s tent, where personnel will direct you to a campsite that is open. You are welcome to pitch your tent and, if you’d like, take your kayak down to the shore.

Attendees make their own food at their campsites but it is a very social event, so feel free to wander around and meet other paddlers.
